Common Issues When Installing Binance on OPPO and vivo

Although OPPO and vivo are different companies, their system architectures are quite similar, and the issues you run into when installing third-party APKs are almost identical. There are basically two hurdles: unknown source permissions not enabled, and system security detection blocking the installation.

Both brands have massive user bases in China, but Binance APP isn't listed in OPPO's Software Store or vivo's App Store, so APK installation is the only option. First, visit the Binance official website to register an account, and download the official Binance APP. Let me walk through the steps for each brand.

OPPO Installation Steps (ColorOS)

Step 1: Download the APK file

  1. Open the built-in browser or Chrome
  2. Visit the Binance APK download page
  3. Tap the download button and wait for it to complete
  4. If the browser shows "This file may be harmful," tap OK to download

Step 2: Enable installation permission

ColorOS 12 and above:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to Password & security (or Security)
  3. Find System security
  4. Tap Install apps from external sources
  5. Find the browser you used to download the APK
  6. Enable Allow installing apps

ColorOS 11 and below:

  1. Settings → Security → Install apps from external sources
  2. Find the relevant browser and enable permission

Step 3: Locate the APK file and install

  1. Option A: Tap the download completion notification directly
  2. Option B: Open File ManagerDownloads folder → find the Binance APK
  3. Tap the file — the installation screen will appear
  4. If a security prompt appears, select Continue install
  5. Wait for installation to complete, then tap Open

OPPO-Specific Issues

Issue: "For your phone's safety, installation is temporarily unavailable"

This is ColorOS's security block:

  1. Don't close the prompt
  2. Wait a few seconds — small text reading "Understand risks and continue installation" will appear at the bottom
  3. Tap that text
  4. Enter your lock screen password to confirm
  5. Continue with installation

Issue: App icon appears grayed out and won't open after installation

ColorOS sometimes puts newly installed third-party apps in a "pending verification" state:

  1. Tap the grayed-out icon — the system will say "This app needs verification"
  2. Tap "Continue using"
  3. The app will return to normal

vivo Installation Steps (OriginOS/Funtouch OS)

Step 1: Download the APK file

The download process is essentially the same as OPPO. Use the browser to open the download link and get the APK file. vivo's built-in browser may also show security warnings — just tap continue to download.

Step 2: Enable installation permission

OriginOS 3 and above:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to Security & privacy
  3. Tap Install unknown apps (or More security settingsInstall unknown apps)
  4. Find the browser used for downloading
  5. Enable Allow from this source

Funtouch OS / OriginOS 2 and below:

  1. Settings → Security → Unknown sources
  2. Toggle on

Step 3: Install the APK

  1. Open the file manager, go to the downloads folder
  2. Tap the Binance APK file
  3. vivo's system will display an installation confirmation screen
  4. If prompted "This app hasn't passed vivo security check," tap Continue install
  5. You may need to enter your lock screen password
  6. Wait for installation to complete

vivo-Specific Issues

Issue: OriginOS keeps spinning during installation

OriginOS sometimes freezes during APK installation:

  1. Go back to the home screen and wait about a minute
  2. Check if the Binance icon has already appeared (sometimes the install screen freezes but the app is actually installed)
  3. If it really didn't install, restart your phone and try again

Issue: Password verification required after installation on vivo

Some vivo phones require the vivo account password when opening newly installed third-party apps:

  1. Enter your vivo account password
  2. If you forgot it, go to Settings → vivo account → Security → Reset password

Post-Installation Settings for Both Brands

Notification permissions

Both OPPO and vivo restrict notification permissions for new apps by default:

OPPO: Settings → Notifications & status bar → Notification manager → find Binance → enable Allow notifications

vivo: Settings → Notifications & status bar → App notification management → find Binance → enable Notifications

Background running

Both brands have aggressive battery-saving policies. It's recommended to add Binance to the background protection whitelist:

OPPO: Settings → Battery → More battery settings → App freeze → find Binance → disable freeze

vivo: Settings → Battery → High background power consumption → find Binance → allow high background power consumption

Auto-start

OPPO: Settings → Password & security → System security → Auto-start management → enable Binance

vivo: Settings → Security & privacy → Auto-start → enable Binance

General FAQ

Package parsing failure

Whether on OPPO or vivo, if you see "There was a problem parsing the package":

  • The APK file may be incomplete — delete it and re-download
  • Check that your phone has at least 200MB of free storage
  • Confirm your system version is Android 6.0 or above

App crashes after installation

The fix is the same for both brands:

  1. Go to Settings → App management → find Binance
  2. Clear cache and data
  3. If it still crashes, uninstall and re-download the latest version

Updating the APP

Same as other Android phones — Binance isn't in OPPO's or vivo's app stores, so updates are handled via:

  1. In-app update prompts — follow the instructions
  2. Manually download the latest APK from the official link and install over the existing version

Each update may trigger the security confirmation flow again — just handle it the same way as the first installation.

Helpful Tips

  1. Before installing, remember the browser's download path so you can easily find the APK in the file manager
  2. If installation keeps getting blocked, try a different browser (e.g., switch from the built-in browser to Chrome, or vice versa)
  3. After installation, you can delete the APK file from the downloads folder to save storage
  4. It's best to do this on WiFi — the APK file is around 80MB
